After many trying and tiring hours, Lucas Mark Deal found his way into the world at 10:33 AM on June 16, 2007 (edit: whoops, not July...guess I was more tired than I thought during the first draft of this!). Even though he was 2 weeks early, he came in at a relatively good-sized 7 lbs, 3 ounces. Both mom and baby are currently doing well at the hospital, and I've come home for a brief break to update this blog and take a short nap on something other than a hospital chair. I'm sure I'll have more pictures and news later, but for now here's some pictures of Lucas and the proud parents after he and Marilu both cleaned up a bit.

Congratulations! And man, you must be tired... JULY 16th? Try June, I know it was a long process but it wasn't THAT long! ;) (Although I'm sure Marilu felt like it was a month of labor.)
